Hild House

Black Box, White Box or Turnkey. Which Construction Stage Should You Choose?

Building a home is a major and meaningful decision. Every family has different expectations, possibilities, and timelines. Some want to be more involved in the construction process, others prefer to complete the interior finishing at their own pace, while some would rather move into a fully finished home.

That is why Hild House offers three different completion stages for its homes: black box, white box, and turnkey. This allows you to choose the solution that best fits your plans, lifestyle, and level of involvement in the building process.

Black box – a solid foundation for your dream home

A black box home means the house is fully completed from the outside, while the interior spaces are still waiting for your ideas and final finishing. All essential technical systems are already installed at this stage: electrical wiring, plumbing, and ventilation are in place, and the interior walls are covered with gypsum board. In other words, the most complex and technical part of the building has already been professionally completed.

The black box option is ideal for those who want to design the interior of their home themselves, complete the finishing works at their own pace, or spread the construction costs across several stages. It is a flexible solution that allows you to be more involved in shaping your home, while giving you peace of mind that the structural and technical aspects of the house have been built professionally and to a high standard.

White box – one step closer to a finished home

With the white box option, the home is already significantly further along. In addition to the work included in the black box stage, the walls have been filled and primed with a base coat of paint. The rooms are bright, clean, and ready for final finishing, but the final materials such as paint, wallpaper, flooring, and tiles in bathrooms have not yet been installed.

The white box stage is a great choice if you want to be involved in choosing the interior finishes of your home, while preferring that the more complex and technical construction work has already been completed. This allows you to focus on what truly makes a house a home colors, materials, and details.

Most homeowners can easily handle tasks such as painting walls, installing wallpaper, or laying flooring themselves. However, for tiling bathrooms and sanitary areas, it is usually wise to use a professional to ensure a durable and high-quality result.

Turnkey – a home ready to move into

A turnkey home means a fully completed house that is ready for you to move into as soon as construction is finished. All interior finishing work has been completed: floors are installed, walls and ceilings are finished, and sanitary equipment such as toilets, showers, and bathtubs has been installed.

Although the term turnkey may sound like a standard solution, it does not mean your choices are limited. Even with this option, you can select interior finishing materials from a wide range of available solutions or work with your own interior designer. The result is a home that truly reflects your taste and lifestyle.

A professional construction team takes care of the entire building and finishing process, leaving you with just the enjoyable parts—choosing materials, ordering furniture, and moving into your new home.

Every choice is the right one if it fits your plans

There is no single correct way to build a home. What matters most is choosing a solution that fits your wishes, timeline, and possibilities.

A black box home gives you maximum freedom to design the interior exactly as you envision it and complete the finishing at your own pace. The white box option offers a balanced approach: most construction work is already done, while you can still add the final personal touches yourself. A turnkey home is the most convenient and fastest path to a finished home—where all that’s left for you to do is move in.

What matters most is that all three options are built on the same foundation: high-quality construction and carefully designed structures.
